  • New Progression System
    • As a new progression system, Weapon Mastery will allow players to gain more weapon XP based on the weapon that is being used to level up in the game.
    • The system functions all the time, and no seasons will affect it.
    • With Weapon Mastery, players have 100 levels to upgrade to earn per weapon.
    • In the game lobby, you can check and view your own weapon use information, last match results, as well as the obtained rewards recently through the so-called Mastery tab which has just been created.
  • Weapon Mastery Rewards
    • There are three kinds of Weapon Mastery rewards you can get through Mastery achievement in this latest PUBG update.
    • Charms
      • Players can use charms and add them to their weapons.
      • A new charm will be earned at every 5 levels of progression per weapon.
      • Charms can be employed with any weapon skins.
        • Charms that you have gained in the rewards page can be attached or unlocked. All charms that were attached in the game will be displayed.
  • Medals
    • Medals concentrate on great accomplishments you implement by using your weapons.
    • Feel free to earn each medal multiple times. You can use a counter to track the number of medals acquired.
  • Tier Emblems
    • Emblems can be earned based on your level brackets earned per each weapon.
    • You are able to get up to 10 tiers.
  • How to get Weapon XP
    • The weapon XP can be acquired when you meet all of these factors during a match:
    • Damage
    • Headshots
    • Defeats
      • With a new term – Defeats, you can use it to track various things, such as knockdowns, destroying the last member of a team, and destroying solo players.
      • Based on the distance of defeats, you can have a chance to obtain more weapon XP.
    • When you have some Weapon XP for yourself, based on the amount of time you got through a battle, the amount of XP you have earned will keep growing.
    • Defeats always follow the current judgment rules for DBNO/Kills employed in the game at present.
    • More detailed information:
      • Friendly fire/team damage is not included in Weapon Mastery.
      • The downs made by road kills or environment elements, such as blue zone, red zone, fall damage, or drowning, are not calculated by Weapon Mastery.
      • Throwables or melee damage is not calculated and added up by Weapon Mastery.
      • By checking the Weapons tab under Mastery, you will view all the defeats for each weapon.
  • Each weapon has a maximum limit, which can be achieving weapon XP.

  • PUBG for PS4 now has a brand new Controller preset – Type C.
    • The preset settings can be modified in the menus called Configuration – Control – Controller Presets.
    • The brand new preset is good enough for the thumb, index finger, and middle finger control.
  • Preset C is not the same as Preset A or B. It’s designed for the players using leaning and combat strategies in a heavy way.
    • The Aim (over the shoulder) key in Preset C cannot be found.
    • You can lean by pressing LB or RB key.
      • Leaning was already divided from the analog sticks to avoid hindering the aim or movement.
    • The key to equipping sidearm was modified already. You need to tap key Y twice to alter quicker in dynamic battles.

  • What did the PUBG dev team say about the PUBG PS4 Controller Preset C?
    • PUBG Controller Preset C was designed to generate a more battle focused preset and it helps players not go through so many difficulties in leaning, aiming, moving, and shooting during the course of the battle by separating all of them.
    • Preset C cut the less commonly used key (AIM down the shoulder) and made an effort to drop the loss in response time of ADS or the intervention to the battle.
    • All presets, including A, B and C will have more customization options in the forthcoming time, which allows some key settings to be modified or equipped. You should experience these presets and don’t forget to let the PUBG dev team know your thoughts on them.

Auto Equipment Attachments options were all added to Configuration – Gameplay.

  • You now get access to 3 options, such as Auto Equip Attachments, Auto Equip Scope, and Auto Replace Attachments
    • Auto Equip Attachments
    • This attachment will be added to a certain active weapon after it has been automatically picked up if it can be equipped.
      • But if it doesn’t enable equipment, you will attach the attachment to the next accessible weapon (Primary 1 → Primary 2 → Sidearm order)
      • If no weapons are able to equip the collected attachment, it will directly fly into the inventory.
        • In case your inventory is full, you cannot collect those attachments.
  • Auto Equip Scope
    • There are three different settings for the scope type attachments in order to reduce unexpected situations during the course of the fight.
    • Setting – Off
      • Scope type attachments will not equip by itself automatically anymore. These attachments will straightly fly into your inventory.
      • These attachments are unable to be gathered if your inventory has no space left.
  • Setting – Sight Only
    • You can only attach some sight type attachments automatically, such as Red Dot, Hologram Sight, and Canted Sight.
    • You have to ensure that your inventory still has enough room for the attachments.
  • Setting – All
    • You can attach scopes automatically.
    • All attachments cannot be collected if your inventory is full.
  • Setting – Auto Replace Attachments
    • To replace a weapon you are holding with a new one, you must use key X. The compatible attachments will be automatically added onto the new weapon.
    • The attachments that are not compatible will directly fly into the inventory.
      • The inventory must have enough free space for the attachments, or else they will be dropped.

  • The featured map is rotated from Sanhok to Erangel in PUBG for PS4.

Erangel 2nd Loot Rebalance

  • The total number of items popped up in Erangel map was grown by approximate 28%.
  • The overall number of items generated was grown, especially the spawn rates of the items with higher priority.
    • Developed the spawn rate of AR by around 64%.
    • Developed the spawn rate of DMR by around 114%.
    • Developed the spawn rate of SR by around 177%.
    • Slightly developed the spawn rates of equipment, especially level 2.
    • Slightly developed the spawn rates of healing items.

Open/Close Doors Animation Improvement in PUBG PS4

  • With the upgraded algorithm, players will now know when the doors are being blocked by vehicles, which prevents them from opening or closing.

Mission List

  • You cannot use LB to check the mission list when you are on the plane or in the starting area anymore.
  • But, you can still check and view the mission list from the System Menu.

New Parachute Gauge

  • The parachute UI has been upgraded with more visibility. It is now split into two gauges. One of them is for the current speed while the other one is used for a detailed altitude reading.
  • Updated teammate status UI
    • You will now be able to see when your teammates are falling down from the plane in a free state through an icon.
    • The status icons of your allies, while they are in the parachuting phase, will be exhibited at the bottom left of the screen, with the other teammate UI.

  • PUBG PS4 now also contains new Tactical Map Markers with 6 different marker types for multiple discrepant circumstances. These types are: Attack, Danger, Defend, Loot, Regroup, and Vehicle.
    • Open the world map carefully, hold the R-STICK and then you will see the Tactical Map Marker. You need to move to the icon you want, then click R-STICK after that.
      • When you don’t pick any marker type while clicking R-STICK, you will see a standard marker that will be positioned.
    • You can only place one Tactical Map Marker or Standard Marker at a time.
    • The Tactical Map Makers will appear on the world map, mini-map and compass, just like other existing map markers appear.

  • PUBG PS4 also has a new crosshair that lets the player spot the use of overarm or underwarm throwing stance when using throwables.

Vikendi map was upgraded and now it’s more balanced. The map is also updated with new long guns and the MK47 mutant for an extra burst of shooting power. Getting through the snipers using a cover will become much easier now.

  • Blue zone adjustments
  • To make the gameplay experiences around the Vikendi map much better, the first safe zone will now be in multiple zones, also, the waiting time between blue zone stages was reduced.
    • You will see the phase 1 safe zone in more discrepant locations.
    • The waiting time between the early and late blue zone stages has been lowered.
    • Lowered down the overall duration for a match by 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  • Vehicle spawn rate adjustment
    • Altered the vehicle spawn rate to make the new blue zone settings uncomplicated.
      • The four-wheel drive vehicle spawn ratio has been increased, in relation to Snowmobiles and Snowbikes.
  • Item spawn rate adjustment
  • Made a modification to the weapon spawn rates to make medium and long-range battles uncomplicated. Some attachments also got modified to provide players with more options.
    • Changes on item spawns on Vikendi:
      • The AR spawns were increased by 1.4x
      • The DMR spawns were increased by 2x.
      • The SR spawns were increased by 7x.
    • Slightly decreased SMG, Shotgun, Pistol Crossbow and spawns.
    • Increased the attachment spawns a bit.
    • Increased high-powered scope spawns a bit.
  • Cave balance adjustment
  • The secret Cave is not a secret anymore, the loot inside the cave has just experienced a modification to ensure that it will become more balanced, and it can get closer to other areas of Vikendi map so as to better the gameplay experience for all players while players still have a chance to get good loot.
    • You will not find any Care Packages in the cave anymore.
      • You also have to go look and gather high-quality non-crate loot while you are in this area.
    • Developed a wide range of items popping in the cave.
  • Item pool modifications
    • MK47, Halfgrip, Thumbgrip and Laser Sight were all included in PUBG for PS4
    • Eliminated Win94 and R45.
  • Moonlight weather condition percentage experienced an update.

UI/UX

Map Cursor Improvement

  • There is now an increase in the default speed of map cursor.
  • But you can reduce the speed of map cursor by 0.5x to get accurate pinging.

  • Feel free to get access to teammates boost gauges in the team UI visible while you play to improve team play.

  • The Flare Gun crosshair in PUBG PS4 game has been altered to display as a circle when aiming at the correct position to call for a Special Care Package or Armored UAZ effectively.
  • Already made a change to the Flare Gun status UI displayed after calling for a Special Care Package or Armored UAZ.
    • When the drop exits the plane, there will be no green flashing light anymore.
    • Before that, it would still be available there until the drop had touched on the ground for 30 seconds.

  • Now you will see the icon and status of your allies that are outside of the immediate minimap zone. It is shown at the corner of the minimap. With this icon and status, you will see the direction and your allies’ status easily.

Weapon Preview Improvement

  • Already improved the weapon preview animation in the lobby.

UI upgrade to halt potential unjust advantage while observing

  • When you spectate your allies but the houses and other map objects are not loaded completely, the screen will be now covered by the extra UI so as to prevent spotting players that wouldn’t otherwise be noticed.
    • After the loading has been finished, this extra UI will be cleared.

Spectator Screen Improvement

  • For now, if you press key Y while you are on the spectator screen, you can easily report the spectating player.
  • With the instructions added to the Key Guide, you can use key O to leave the match.

Network Latency HUD

  • With a Network information function, you can see Ping, connection speed, packets, and packet loss.

  • The settings can be modified. You can set them to be on/off at Settings > Gameplay > UI > Network debug statistics.

Performance

  • Made an optimization to the performance in order to decrease the loading time that takes you into matches.

Sound

Sound Improvements

  • Attached more sounds to item interactions in PUBG PS4.
    • You may have heard the sounds when interacting with items before, and most of them shared the same sound effects. However, for now, they will have different sounds.
  • Added vehicle suspension sounds to the game.
    • Now you can easily hear the sounds of the suspension working of a moving vehicle.
    • Each circumstance will have a different sound. When a vehicle moves on rough terrain or when it gets down from a jump, the sounds will be unique.
    • TPP and FPP have different suspension sound volume

  • Already solved a problem with some barbed wire fences that hindered bullets.
  • Already fixed a problem in which players could not gather items scattered under broken barbed wire fences.
  • Already fixed a problem in which items popped up in unapproachable areas of Docks on Sanhok.
  • Fixed a problem where the player camera could go through a wall at Paradise Resort on Sanhok
  • Solved an issue that hindered people from standing up after being prone under certain hut boardwalks on PUBG Sanhok map.
  • Solved an issue in which the lighting effects could alter on stone buildings with curved roofs on Sanhok.

  • Solved an issue about the center screen DBNO and kill messages being obstructed.
  • Fixed the problem with interaction UI being displayed in spectator screen when is destroyed while the interaction UI was still triggered.
  • Already solved the problem with a certain maneuver that could stop motorcycles from flipping.
  • Already solved the problem in which player would carry on making a move while opening the system menu while driving or freefalling.
  • Already solved the problem with discrepant UAZ model variants having discrepant maximum speeds.
  • Already fixed the problem about a frag grenade ground burn mark textures that overlapped the player character’s model.
  • Solved a problem in which only one side of footsteps was output in some situations.
  • Solved an issue that would eliminate the hair of your character when you put a cap on.
